Family Matinee: Introduction to Mozart
Players from the Jersey Chamber Orchestra embark on a high-speed tour of Mozart’s life and music in this family-friendly Introduction to Mozart. There will be a selection of instantly recognisable melodies as well as a few of his more unusual – and possibly unsuccessful – ideas on show, as the players explore a little of what went on behind the scenes. If you have ever wanted to find out a bit more about one of history’s greatest ever musicians, or ever felt that classical music was a bit on the impenetrable side, then come and join us for an hour and discover a surprising side to things…
The programme includes excerpts from Mozart’s First Symphony, Horn duets, Clarinet Quintet and Oboe Quartet, Don Giovanni, the Marriage of Figaro and much more. Please note that Peter Donohoe is only playing in the Mozart Gala in the evening.
