Dave Chalk
Chairman
Dave was the Managing Director of Cimandis Ltd, the leading Food Wholesaler and Distributor on the Channel Islands. Dave undertakes a number of roles including being Chair of the Jersey Craft Guild of Chefs & member of the Chamber of Commerce Retail & Supply Chain Sub-Committee. He has also been a JHA Management Committee member and – being a Chartered Management Accountant – has recently taken up the role of Director, and Honorary Treasurer.
Cyril Whelan
Director
An advocate of the Royal Court, Cyril has some 40 years’ experience of working at senior management levels within both the public and private sectors. He remains the Island’s senior Crown Advocate and among other appointments is a Commissioner of the Jersey Financial Services Commission. His lifelong interest in the arts remains unabated.
Pierre Horsfall (CBE)
Director
Best known for serving 27 years as a Member of the States of Jersey (local government) and retiring as the Senior Member, Pierre Horsfall has also served on numerous committees, charities and boards including six years as Chairman of Jersey Finance Ltd. Judging by events at Jersey Opera House under the present Board and Management Team, his reputation for getting things done is well founded.
Non-Executive Directors
Deputy Kristina Moore has been a member of the States Assembly since 2011, in that time she has held a number of roles, including Chief Minister, Home Affairs Minister and during her term as Senator she was President of the Scrutiny Liaison Committee. Before her political career Kristina was a broadcast journalist and anchor for Channel Television for many years. She had also worked in television and radio in the south of England and the East Midlands. Passionate about theatre, dance and performance from a young age, Kristina studied ballet, tap, and modern dance, and continues to support and attend as many performances as possible. Originally from North Devon, Kristina attended a comprehensive school and participated in a Rotary Youth Exchange in Sydney, Australia. She holds a BAHons in French from the Universities of Birmingham and Nice and a Postgraduate diploma in Broadcast Journalism.
Bruno Santos Costa returned to the island after ten years of running some of London’s top hospitality venues. He has successfully opened St. Helier’s newest Wine & Charcuterie Bar – The Watchmaker, whilst also running Portuguese travel agent Estrela Travel and other local businesses.
Louise Ashworth is a strategic marketer, with over 20 years’ experience in delivering award-winning marketing and branding strategies. She has a strong track record of shaping and executing brand and marketing strategies for a wide range of organisations. As an IOD-qualified professional, Louise brings a wealth of commercial awareness and a passion for local culture and the arts to the Jersey Opera House.
Ryan Williams is a senior HR professional, who has strong board experience. He is currently Head of the Performing Arts Development Group (“PADG”), representing the local performing arts community and is Group Chairman of Jersey Green Room Theatre Company (previously Jersey Green Room Club).
Christine Jasper worked as Artist Manager at a leading classical music concert agency before moving to Investment banking at JPMorgan in London, where she spent more than a decade. She was member of the Development Board of the ‚Academy of St Martin in the Fields Chamber Orchestra and is a trained Singer who has performed UK wide and internationally.
Laura Robertson has practiced corporate and M&A law both in the City and on island for over 10 years. She has also served on numerous charities and boards both locally and in London across the arts, heritage and sports sector and has a lifelong love of theatre.
Hayley Routier joins as board trainee. Her background spans (but is not limited to): project management, business and community support, marketing and communications, fundraising, relationship and stakeholder management, customer service, business development, and recruitment. She is the Founder of Dancing in Jersey, a social enterprise and NPO, which is dedicated to celebrating the art of dance in Jersey and building a united dance community.
